These terms explain how Hearthworks offers home improvement services and how this website, newyorkwheels.com, may be used. They were last updated on 28 September 2026. Please read them before you send an enquiry, ask for a quote, or request a care plan. If you do not agree, do not use the site or ask us to start work.
Hearthworks is a home improvement studio. Our work includes carpentry, furniture remodeling and repair, interior painting, wood cutting and millwork, varnish and polish, flooring, doors, and related finishing. References to "we", "us", and "our" mean Hearthworks. References to "you" mean the person using the website or asking for work on a property.
The studio can be reached by email at hello@newyorkwheels.com during posted working hours, Monday to Saturday, 09.00am to 18.00pm. We aim to reply within one business day. This website does not take payment.
Pages, photographs, plans, and prices on this website describe the kind of work we do. They are an invitation to talk. They are not a formal offer that you can accept by clicking a button. A project, a repair, or a care plan begins only when we confirm the scope in writing after we understand the room.
Photographs show real making and finished rooms from our studio work. A picture is an example, not a promise that your room will look the same. Houses differ in age, moisture, light, and the way they have been altered. We will tell you when a photograph cannot be repeated honestly.
Forms on this website run in your browser. They check that a name, an email address, and the other requested details are present and sensible. When the check passes, the page shows a thank-you message. The form does not transmit your details to a server operated by us. If you want us to receive a request, send it by email to hello@newyorkwheels.com or wait for a conversation we confirm by email.
Do not send sensitive financial information, copies of identity documents, or passwords through a website form or through ordinary email. We do not need them to discuss a room.
After you write to us we may ask for photographs, rough sizes, and a description of what you hope to keep. For many jobs we then visit, measure, and write a scope. A quote is valid for the period stated on it, usually 30 days, because timber, paint, and hardware prices move.
A quote lists inclusions and exclusions. Unless it says otherwise, it does not include hidden structural repair, damp treatment, electrical work, or plumbing alterations discovered after a surface is opened. If we find that kind of work, we stop and write a variation before we continue.
Dates are held for you when the scope is confirmed and any preparatory payment described in the quote is agreed in writing. We schedule around occupied houses and will say which rooms will be out of use.
You confirm that you have the right to authorise work on the property. If a landlord, a building manager, or another owner must agree, you obtain that agreement before we start. You tell us about known hazards: fragile finishes you want untouched, pets, alarms, and anything buried in a wall that you know about.
You provide reasonable access during the working window we agree, a clear path for materials, and a place for us to protect floors. You move small valuables. We move larger furniture when that is part of the scope, and we will say so.
You review drawings and finish samples in the light of the room. A sample approved under a single lamp may look different at noon. Approval in writing, including email, is how we record your choice.
Species, paint systems, board thicknesses, and hardware are named in the scope. We buy what is named. If a product is unavailable, we propose a substitute of equal performance and wait for your yes. We do not quietly swap a finish.
Natural timber moves. Colour, grain, and small knots vary inside one species. We will show you the range before a prominent surface is committed. Manufactured boards are used where they are the better technical choice, and we will say where.
You may ask for a change. We will price it and say how it moves the date before we do it. We may also propose a change when the building requires it, for example when a wall is out of square by more than the drawing allowed. Work outside the written scope is not a gift and is not an obligation until both sides confirm it.
Project fees are set out in the quote: a description, a sum, and the point at which each portion is due. Care plans shown on the pricing page (lite, home care, and general checkup) are monthly starting points. They are not purchased by pressing the button on that page. The button records a request for a conversation. The plan that applies to your house is the one we later confirm by email, with the rooms and the annual limits written down.
A monthly plan is for maintenance and small agreed items. It is not an open promise to rebuild a kitchen. Unused small items do not roll forward unless the confirmation says they do. You may end a plan by email with 30 days' notice after any minimum period stated in that confirmation.
You may cancel a visit by email. If you cancel a confirmed making day with less than two business days' notice, we may charge for the reserved time and for materials already cut to your sizes, as described in the quote. We may cancel or move a day for safety, illness, or conditions on site that would damage the work. We will offer the next reasonable date.
We carry out the agreed work with reasonable care and skill. For workmanship we complete, we will return to correct a fault that appears within five years and that is caused by the way we made or fitted the work, provided you tell us promptly and the item has been used and cleaned as the care card describes.
This promise is for the work we did. It is not a promise that an old house will stop moving, that a finish will ignore standing water, or that a repair of one joint will strengthen a piece that is failing everywhere else. Wear, impact, sunlight, leaks from plumbing we did not install, and later alterations by others are outside the promise.
The promise does not cover items you supplied unless the fault is in how we fitted them. It does not cover consumable parts such as seals and bulbs after ordinary life. If a manufacturer offers its own warranty on a named product, we will pass that information to you. Their warranty is theirs.
We protect floors and finishes on the route we agree, control dust as far as the method allows, and remove our waste. Some dust is unavoidable when old paint or timber is sanded. We will say so before that day. You should cover what you cannot bear to dust, including electronics and open food.
Text, logo, drawings, and photographs on this website belong to Hearthworks or are used with permission. You may read them and share links to our pages. You may not copy the site into another commercial site, scrape it, or present our photographs as your own work. The Hearthworks name and the timber-house mark are our brand.
If you send us photographs of your home or drawings of your own, you allow us to use them to prepare your quote and to carry out the work. We will not publish photographs of your home unless you agree in writing.
Do not misuse the site. That includes attempting to break it, probing it for weaknesses, sending malicious code, harvesting addresses, or using it to mislead someone about a connection with Hearthworks. Do not use the forms to send unlawful, abusive, or irrelevant material.
Share buttons open services operated by other people so you can share a link to a page. Those services have their own terms. A link from our page is not an endorsement of everything on the destination. Partner names on the site identify workshops and suppliers we collaborate with. Their products are described in your quote when they are part of a job.
The website is provided in good faith. Guides on maintenance and furniture care are general education. They are not a survey of your house and not a set of instructions you should follow if you are unsure. Opening up electrical fittings, gas appliances, or anything structural is not a weekend task described here, and we do not invite you to do it.
We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Prices, photographs, and plan descriptions can change. The version that matters for your job is the written confirmation, not a cached page.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of goodwill, or indirect loss arising from use of the website. For a confirmed project, our liability for a claim about the work is limited to the sum you paid for the part of the work the claim concerns, except where a law that applies to the job requires a different result.
We are not liable for delay caused by events we do not control, including supply failures, extreme weather, or loss of access to the property. We will tell you and agree a revised date.
If you authorise work you did not have the right to authorise, or if you give us inaccurate information that causes a claim from someone else, you will cover the loss we reasonably suffer as a result, except to the extent our own negligence caused it.
Our privacy policy explains what happens to personal information. It sits beside these terms. Where a form stays in your browser, that fact is described there as well. Emails you send us are covered by the privacy policy.
We may update these terms when our services or the website change. The date at the top will move. The terms that apply to a project are the ones in force when we confirm that project, plus any variation we both later accept. Continued use of the website after an update is how you accept the new website terms.
If a section of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. These terms are the whole agreement about use of the website. A project agreement, if we make one, adds the scope and the price and prevails over the website if they disagree about that job.
We do not name a court city on this page. If a dispute about a confirmed project cannot be settled by a conversation, it will be handled under the law that applies where the work was carried out, unless a mandatory rule requires another forum.
Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@newyorkwheels.com. Put "Terms" in the subject line. Keep project details inside the email thread for that job.
