This privacy policy explains how Hearthworks thinks about personal information in connection with the website newyorkwheels.com and with home improvement enquiries. It was last updated on 28 September 2026. We wrote it in plain language because a policy that only a lawyer can read does not help you decide what to send us.
Hearthworks is responsible for personal information described here. You can reach the studio at hello@newyorkwheels.com. Please use email for privacy requests as well as for project enquiries. We aim to reply within one business day, and we aim to complete a privacy request within 30 days.
Forms on this website are checked in your browser and are not sent to a server we operate. A thank-you message means the page accepted the shape of your details. It does not mean we have stored them. If you want a person to read your request, email hello@newyorkwheels.com.
When you do email us, we use what you send to answer you, to prepare a quote, and to carry out work you later confirm. We do not sell personal information. We do not build advertising profiles from this website.
If you email the studio, you might include your name, email address, a description of a room, and photographs. Send only what we need to understand the work.
Care-plan requests and job applications may include the trade you practice, the rooms you want covered, and a short history of your work. Send only what the question asks for. A portfolio link is enough. We do not want copies of identity documents at the enquiry stage.
The pages are static. Validation of names, email addresses, messages, and confirmation boxes happens with a script running in your browser. The script does not call our server, does not write a database, and does not set an account. If you close the tab, the text you typed is gone unless your own browser kept it.
That design is deliberate. It lets you see how a form should behave, including the thank-you message, without handing the studio a copy you did not mean to file. It also means we cannot reply to a form submission we never received. Email is the path that reaches a person.
If you host or browse a copy of this site, basic server logs may be created by the host that delivers the files. Those logs can include an IP address, the page requested, the time, and a browser description. We use that kind of log, when it exists, to keep the site available and to understand failures. We do not use it to identify you for marketing.
This website does not embed advertising trackers. Share buttons do not load a social network until you choose to share. When you do, that network receives the page address from your browser under its own policy. Fonts may be requested from a font host so the pages match their design. The font host sees a technical request from your browser. If you prefer not to make that request, your browser will fall back to a standard typeface.
The pages themselves do not set cookies for accounts, carts, or advertising. A host or a font service may use a technical cookie or a similar identifier that your browser allows. You can block cookies in your browser. The articles, photographs, and forms will still read, because the site does not depend on a login.
We do not use cookies to follow you across other websites. If that ever changes, this policy will change first, and the date at the top will move.
We use personal information you send by email to:
We do not use your enquiry to send unrelated promotions. Studio notes about care, such as a seasonal checklist, go only to people who asked for them and who can unsubscribe as described below.
We use information because you asked us to reply, because we are preparing or performing a project you confirmed, because we have a legitimate reason to keep a record of what was built in your house, or because a legal duty applies. You can object to a use that is only "legitimate interest", such as a photograph of a finished room, and we will stop unless we have a compelling reason we can explain.
We do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects about you. A person reads project emails.
The subscribe and unsubscribe pages contain forms that are checked in your browser, like the other forms. They show a confirmation message on this device. They do not, by themselves, add you to a mailing list or remove you from one, because they do not contact a server.
If you want studio notes by email, send a short message to hello@newyorkwheels.com with the subject "Subscribe" and the address that should receive them. If you want to stop, send a message with the subject "Unsubscribe" from that same address. We will stop studio notes within ten business days. Emails that are part of an open project, such as a visit time, are not marketing and may continue until the job is closed.
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed:
Suppliers see the least they need. A hardware order does not need your life story. A visit location is shared with the lead who is coming, not with a public page. Partner names on the website are not a list of people who receive your enquiry automatically.
Unanswered sales questions that never become a job are deleted or anonymised within 24 months, unless you ask us to keep a sample on file. Confirmed project files, including the finish system and drawings, are kept for up to seven years after the work so we can honour the workmanship promise and any accounting duty. Accident or claim files are kept as long as the claim needs.
Job applications that we do not take up are deleted within 12 months unless you ask us to hold them for a later opening. You can ask for an earlier deletion of a portfolio you sent, and we will do it unless a legal hold applies.
We take reasonable care: access to project mail is limited to people who need it, and we do not ask you to send card numbers or identity documents to discuss a room. Email is not a perfect lock. Do not send secrets in it. No method of storage is free of risk, and we will tell you if a breach we suffer is likely to affect you, as the law requires.
Depending on the rules that apply to you, you may ask us to:
Write to hello@newyorkwheels.com with the subject "Privacy request". Tell us the address you used so we do not miss the file. We may ask for enough detail to be sure we are writing to the right person. We will not ask you to create an account on this website. If you are unhappy with our reply, you may contact a privacy regulator in the place where you live. We will point you to the right description of that path if you ask.
Our services and this website are meant for adults who can authorise work on a property. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has emailed us, write to the studio and we will delete what we should not have.
Project photographs on the website are chosen so they do not show house numbers, faces of clients, or papers that identify a household. If you recognise your room and want a photograph taken down, email us. We would rather remove a picture than argue about it. Future photographs of your home are published only with your written agreement.
Share links and any supplier reference leave our site. Read the other party's policy before you give them information. We are not responsible for their practices.
If we change how the website works, for example if a form later sends email through a service, we will update this policy before that change applies and we will adjust the forms so it is obvious what happens when you press the button. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
Privacy questions go to hello@newyorkwheels.com. Please use a clear subject line. We will reply to the address you wrote from unless you ask us to use another. Use a clear subject line so the right person can find the thread.
Hearthworks provides carpentry, painting, furniture care, flooring, and related home improvement. That is the only context in which we want your information: to do that work well, or to consider working with you.
